The Common Merganser, Mergus merganser, is common and widespread across the U.S. and Canada on fresh water. In this image a couple of males are caught in the first rays of the sun at Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area in Pennsylvania, where they often congregate before migrating North in the spring. |
